True Happiness
True Happiness..
Introduction
HAPPINESS is something that everyone wants, but few people are able to attain. It's also a difficult thing to define and even harder to achieve. But what does it mean for someone to be happy? And how can you make sure your life is filled with so much joy that you never want for anything again? Read on for some tips on how to find true happiness in your life!
Happiness is a choice.
You have to choose to be happy.
When you're not happy, there are lots of reasons why: the weather, your job or lack thereof, other people's behavior and whatnot. But if you want to be happier than this (or at least more contented), then it's up to YOU--not anyone else--to make that happen.
It takes effort and commitment on your part as well as determination from others around us who can help us get where we want go in life. In fact, if someone tells me "you should try harder" or "you should stop complaining," my reaction is usually pretty negative too because I don't feel like those kinds of things would make me happier anyway!
Happiness is a skill.
Happiness is a skill. It can be learned, practiced and mastered. Happiness is not something that just happens to you--it's something you have to work at actively every day. It's not an accident; it's not luck; it doesn't just happen by accident or chance or fate (whatever those terms mean).
When people ask me how they can become happy, what is the first thing that comes out of my mouth? "Start by loving yourself." That's right: if you want to be happy in life, then start loving yourself first!
There are no short cuts to happiness.
Happiness is a choice, not a destination.
You can't be happy all the time, but you can choose to be happy when you are sad. Happy people are more likely to help others and they have better relationships with their families and friends. Happy people also have a lower risk of developing depression or substance abuse problems (1). A recent study showed that people who scored high on questionnaires about well-being had some biological markers that predicted good health (2). So if you want to live longer and experience less pain in your body then being happier is probably for your benefit too!
You can't be happy or sad all the time.
It's true that you can't be happy all the time--but you also can't be sad all the time. You need to be able to switch between the two.
The best way to maintain happiness is by dealing with sadness in a constructive way, which means accepting it as part of life and not letting it consume you. In order for us humans to function well together as a species, we need each other's support and compassion when things go wrong. We can do this by learning how to deal with our own sadnesses and disappointments so that they don't turn into negative feelings toward others or yourself (or those around you).
Happiness isn't something you can just attain, but something you have to work at every day.
Happiness isn't something you can just attain, but something you have to work at every day. It's a skill that you can learn and develop, one that takes time and effort. It's not something that happens overnight or by accident (although I'll admit sometimes it does).
So how do we get there? How do we become happier with our lives?
It starts with awareness! You must know what makes YOU happy--and then work on those things.
Self-discovery is key for finding true happiness.
It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking that happiness is about what you have and how many things there are in your life. The truth is, true happiness comes from within yourself. You can't find it by chasing after external things--you have to focus on who you are as a person and what makes you happy.
The best way to achieve this is through self-discovery. It's important not only for finding true happiness but also for helping others find theirs as well! So if there's anything I wish everyone knew about finding true happiness (or even just living their lives), it would be this:
Focus on what makes YOU happy instead of what others think will make THEM happy (or vice versa).
Don't let fear hold back from trying new things! Fear holds us back from experiencing the world around us because we're afraid of failing at something ourselves or letting someone down in some way...
It's important to learn what makes you happy and make that the focus of your life.
The key to happiness isn't something you can just attain, but something you have to work at every day.
If you want to be happier, then make it a priority in your life and learn what makes you happy. Look around at the things around you and start noticing what makes them tick--if they're messy or boring, if they don't serve any purpose other than being pretty or useful for their owner, if there's nothing about them that makes them special or unique compared with other things in the world (and by "other things" I mean everything). If this applies to anything in your life right now--a relationship or job or hobby--it might mean that something needs changing before moving on down this path of self-discovery will lead anywhere meaningful!
Conclusion
It's important to remember that there's no such thing as the "right" way to be happy. The best way for you to find your own happiness is through self-discovery, which means you have to look at what makes you happy and work on making it a bigger part of your life. You don't need anyone or anything else in order to be truly happy — only yourself!
